Meet Drew Bales: Owner & Operator
Drew began his career as a personal trainer in 2003. His love and curiosity for human movement led him to enroll into the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 2007. After graduating and receiving his state license he earned the designation as a board certified massage therapist, BCTMB. Clinical work quickly became his passion and led him towards acquiring several additional advanced manual therapy and movement specialist certifications, turning him into the multi-disciplinarian he is today. He is a second generation Licensed and Board Certified Massage Therapist, Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy (CSMT), member of the National Certifying Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), International Sports Science Association (ISSA), Fascia Research Society (FRS), and founder and developer of Fascia-Fit™️ Movement Therapy.
The Work:
Manual Therapy and Movement Specialists design custom manual therapy and movement protocols to create balance between how force is transmitted and strain is distributed through the body. We begin with a series of assessments to identify injuries and imbalance in the body. Each evaluation is unique based on an individuals needs. The data collected helps guide us to create an optimal treatment plan. A therapist’s job is to facilitate the clients process, the work is a partnership not a solo event.
Providing the greatest quality care by continuing to stay current on the latest exercise physiology, manual therapy techniques and fascia research is our greatest professional passion. Our practice is influenced by scientific research performed by Dr. Stephen M. Levin, Dr. Jean-Claude Guimberteau, Dr. Robert Schleip, Dr. Carla Stecco, Tom Myers-Anatomy Trains, Graham Scarr and brilliant scientists alike. The full potential that lies within the neuromyofascial network is only beginning to be understood. We are grateful to all of the contributors that have allowed us the privilege to be a part of this work.
